Check your mail, folks!

Invitations are in the mail. I am very interested to hear what folks think of them, and cannot wait to start seeing the RSVP's. Today, March 30, is 72 days. I am currently working on the best way to get Bumpa, Brad, and Grammy Kay to the wedding as all three are in wheelchairs and require assistance. But I will make it happen. Bumpa told my aunt Cindy that "I have have to see her walk down the aisle." Yes, that will not be a sob fest for me, seeing my grandfather crying when he sees me. Bring it on! :)
I'm also putting final touches on the readings, prayers at church, music, and other little touches. The checklists are being generated. (That sound you just heard was the bridal party and the groom's party all collectively rolling their eyes) :)

sorry folks

I haven't had a moment to update the blog. All is well in wedding central. The Man of Honor, Eddie - was the first to get his tux fitting - even before the FOB and FOG - or even the groom! Eddie will be a very handsome addition to the wedding.
I also saw pictures of my older flower girl, Trinity - in her flower girl dress. Just wait til you all see it. She will steal the show. (Hey anything that distracts you all from looking at me and making me cry is a good thing!) I have no doubt that my younger flower girl Chloe will be equally in the spotlight. As will my very handsome ring bearer Charlie. Cheryl infomred me that she's been practicing with a pillow so he doesn't "hum the pillow across the church" (Boy that would be a funny moment wouldnt it?) The next sound you heard would be THUMP from Mom or Momma 2 hitting the floor. Yes Rob's mom refers to herself as Momma 2 - adorable, dont' you think? Dress fitting April 8. Must go now and do more sit ups. :)

Whooping cough and wedding woes

So bride to be got herself a wicked respiratory infection and ended up going to the doctor last week. Accompanied by the caring groom to be, the doctor said he had never heard a cough so bad, and that she might have whooping cough. "Isn't that...you know.... extinct?" she gasped. She was told that like 20% of cases they are seeing are in fact whooping cough and the vaccine wears off after you are about 13. Go figure. So after 5 days of antibiotic, cough medicine with codeine, and an inhaler, bride to be is on the mend. The doctor has confirmed that the chest x-ray was negative for pnuemonia, thankfully.
You KNOW I'm sick when I did not even LOOK at the seating chart or do anything on my to-do checklist. One positive spin - I was sweating the April 8 dress fitting. Not anymore. Nothing like hurling for 3 days and not eating to trim the old waistline. :)

So much accomplished!

Where do I begin?
Invitations are DONE - labeled, stuffed, and ready to go. You all just have to wait a little longer. :)
Flowers have been ordered, program covers have been purchased, detailing is done at the Holiday Inn.... and my "Don't Forget" checklist is up to two pages.
The calendar grows more crowded every day!
My beautiful attendants and myself are going to get their shoes on Sunday in Natick at Shoes to Dye For.
A REALLY funny things happened.... OK so most of those of you who read this know that I have an addiction to Bath and Body Works. After taking a shower, I spray on the body spray, and use the lotion. Hence it was next to my bed. So Rob falls into a deep sleep - big shocker there - and has a dream that he is very very thirsty. In his dream he reaches out for a beverage, unscrews the top, and takes a refreshing quenching drink..........
You guessed it. Not Diet Coke, or water, but Rice Flower and Shea body spray. After spitting it all over his clothes, he uses about 2 cups of mouthwash while spitting hacking and coughing all the while. Now mind you through this entire ordeal, I am blissfully sleeping. So he can't wait to wake me up and tell me this in the morning, he does, I am hysterical, and he is telling me to stop laughing, while laughing himself. We calm down and go on with our morning. So he sneezes and says "Damn! Its in my sinuses!...well at least my breath is fresh." (which just sends me into convulsions of laughter all over again.) Got to love him. :)

baptism, bread, and blessings

Today Rob is getting baptized in our church, the church that he and I will be married in, in less than 100 days. His parents are coming to the service as well, which is awesome. That Rob, who really doesn't put a great deal into religion in general, wants to do this, for me, is just one more reason why I love him so. Many men in the same circumstance would just say "hey that's the way I am, love it or leave it". But not Rob.
True to form, we have found humor, even in this. When I asked him if he was excited about getting baptized he simply said "its a few prayers and a sprinkle of holy water." And it is, really, at it's base level. I mentioned there would be an annointing with oil.
Rob ::look of horror:: Oil? Where?
me - it's just on Rev. Peggys fingertip and she makes the sign of the cross.
him: how much oil are we talking about? Will I get a breakout?
me - it's like a drop.
him - what kind of oil? Is it extra virgin olive oil? Do I need to bring bread?
When I finally stopped laughing about that, Rob then asked - "so the baptism part? Do I have to get naked?"
I could have been really mean and said yes, but I just couldn't do that. He's seen Big Fat Greek Wedding too many times with me, I think. :)

In other wedding news, the invitation put together occurs today after the service. Also, Mom and I got our shoes. Very chic. We are both pleased.
Oh! Both the MOH and the MB have gotten their dresses! They are so beautiful, both the dress and the lovely ladies wearing them. I cannot wait to see them all dressed up. These girls have been amazing. Everyone has really. I truly am so very blessed.

100 days

Yes that's right, intrepid readers. Today, March 2, is the 100 day mark.
100 days until we say "I do"
And I for one, cannot wait.

I'm 15... for a moment caught in between 10 and 20 and I'm just dreamin' countin' the ways to where you are

I'm 22... for a moment and she feels better than ever and we're on fire making our way back from mars

I'm 33... for a moment still the man, but you see ....

I'm 45... for a moment the sea is high and I'm heading into crisis chasing the years of my life

...hundred years to live as time goes by suddenly, "oh why?"another blink of the eye

..67 is gone the sun is getting high we're moving on

I'm 99... for a moment in time for just another moment and I'm just dreamin' countin' the ways to where you are

...there's never a wish better than this when you've only got a hundred years to live
